Material fee includes resist material, grip mat (used in place of bubble wrap), painter's plastic, soap, use of pool noodles.

And if you've ever wanted to learn (or improve on what you already know) to make a seamless garments using a resist, make your own patterns, de-mystify shrinkage calculations and learn how to use Beth's "Easy Peasy Shrinkage Calculation Sheet" then this workshop is for you. Learn Beth's method for pattern making which doesn't involve taking any body measurements or using complicated math. Meet at Willow St. Metro Station in Long Beach
Day 1 will be spent shopping for fabric for your project in downtown LA's Fashion/Fabric District where a bevy of high-end gorgeous silks (solids, prints, burn-out) and other fabrics can be found at some of the best prices ever.
We'll meet at the Willow Street Metro Station in Long Beach to travel on the Metro train to downtown Los Angeles (50 minute ride) where we'll shop for silk fabric in the Fashion/Fabric District followed by lunch at a fun downtown LA eatery.
This is a unique opportunity to shop and consult with Beth and get the scoop on her favorite fabric shops in downtown LA's Fashion/Fabric District which is renowned for the wide selection at unbeatable prices.
You'll be able to buy all the silk fabric for your felted project as well as buttons, closures and other goodies. You will be amazed by the selection but you'll have Beth's guidance to help navigate what otherwise might be overwhelming on your own.Fabric consultation and guidance; transportation to/from Los Angeles; and a sit-down lunch at a unique downtown LA restaurant is all included in the price.

Using one of your own pieces of clothing as a guide (it does not need to be a vest), learn to size it up to create a resist. Learn Beth's collage style of felting by incorporating and layering various silk fabrics. On the afternoon of the last day, Beth will help you style the vest and show the various ways it can be worn along with a one-on-one photo shoot.
