I'm ready for my close up

I love the way this came out.  Beautiful fabric on the front and back.  Lots of repurposed fabrics.  Beaded closure with felted button but there are endless ways to wear this.

I laid out various pieces of silk on the bubble wrap.

Laid the wool roving in one direction on top of the silk fabric.

Added all the goodies and more roving.

And now the rolling process to agitate the wool fibers to get them to felt.

After the first rolling, I opened up the package to remove the cloth.

I'm carefully removing the cloth from the roving.  If I had rolled longer, the cloth would have felted in.

How about some sanding to agitate it even more.

I'm ready for my close up and...

and a night out on the town in the limo.

To learn more about felting, register at my Events page for my 10/21/12 all day Sunday workshop at Grau in Hollywood.

  1. Outstanding, as always. I love the closure too, and of course the colors and texture. Truly wearable art. Your pieces are so tactile, you can't be satisfied just looking at them. They beg to be touched. To borrow a phrase from a friend of mine."Awesome" :)
